The TEC is a teacher development course for non-first language speaker teachers of English who want to expand or update their professional knowledge and teaching methodology and to improve their own English language skills.
During the course, the participants explore specific aspects of teaching methodology and techniques as well as utilising and evaluating a range of teaching aids and resources. At the end of the course, all receive a 'Teacher of English Course' Certificate.
The areas covered include:
- Language development
- Background to language learning and teaching
- Different methodologies for teaching
- Classroom management and practical teaching skills
- Lesson planning
- Teaching aids and resources
- Observation of experienced teachers
The TEC courses are very flexible and can be adapted to suit the specific needs of the participants. We can also design tailored TEC courses for ‘closed groups’ of teachers travelling together at any time of year.
In order to benefit from the course, the participants’ level of English should be at least B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This is Equivalent to Cambridge English: First.
Teacher training courses in your own country
The Educational Trust has many years’ experience of running TEC and other bespoke training or refresher courses for teachers in their own countries. These courses are designed to meet the specific needs of your school, college, university or teachers’ association. Courses with Cambridge English accreditation are also offered.
